Mesotherapy is a somewhat ancient medical technique that was discovered in 1952 by French doctor Michael Pasteur. It is the injection of vitamins, minerals, elements and amino acids into the middle layer of the skin called the mesoderm, by which this technique took its name. This treatment aims to reduce the signs of aging, cellulite, fat deposits in the body, rejuvenate the
face and neck, remove wrinkles, and re-grow hair according to the type of special medical formula that the physician selects.
Mesotherapy is performed in two ways: either by hand-injection with a very fine, painless needle, or with special gun-like injection devices, on which the fine needle is fixed. These devices can be calibrated, which makes this technique less painful for the patient and easier and faster for the doctor, especially in the right hands. This is especially important because precision and stability in delivering the active substance to the appropriate layer of the skin is imperative.
Mesotherapy has several uses, including:
- Hair loss treatment and hair regrowth: hair loss may affect men and women at any age. This treatment can regrow hair by replacing the essential elements needed for hair follicle stimulation, improving blood circulation in the scalp, and strengthening hair bulbs. This increases hair density and reduces hair fall as well.
- Rejuvenation of the face and neck: with age and exposure to various natural and environmental factors, the skin loses its freshness and elasticity and develops wrinkles. The mesotherapy formula for rejuvenating the skin contains vitamins, amino acids, minerals, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid. By injecting these vitamins and antioxidants, you can improve or avoid the formation of wrinkles, skin folds, and changes in color. In addition to strengthening the skin and improving its elasticity, it also removes toxins and free radicals that cause wrinkles. Using mesotherapy to rejuvenate your face and neck makes your face look younger and fresher.
- Cellulite treatment: Cellulite is a skin condition referred to according to its appearance as the orange peel. Cellulite is found in 90% of women and once it appears it exercise and diet rarely make a difference. Mesotherapy is one of the cosmetic modalities available to treat cellulite. The formula contains substances that improve blood and lymph circulation, which also strengthens the connective tissues. It also contains (Deoxycholic Acid), which is used to dissolve localized fat accumulation in stubborn areas. In addition, vitamins, amino acids and hyaluronic acid present in the formula tighten the skin in the treated area.
- Skin pigment lightening: brown spots can appear with frequent sun exposure. It may also be associated with hormonal changes associated with pregnancy or with the use of hormonal birth control pills. Mesotherapy can treat these spots with a special formula that lightens the skin, breaks down melanin pigment, or reduces its production in the skin, which helps unify the color of the skin.
Duration of treatment and outcome:
To obtain the desired result, mesotherapy sessions should be carried out on a specific schedule in which the number of sessions varies between 4-6 sessions (varies from patient to
patient according to the type of treatment required). Sessions should be
separated by a period of one to three weeks.
Anesthesia used:
Mesotherapy does not require any anesthesia, as it is injected with very fine needles. It is possible to use an anesthetic cream as well on the area to be injected.
After treatment with mesotherapy:
It is possible to experience slight irritation to the treated skin for up to 24 hours after the session. Some redness and swelling may also appear in the injected area, but self resolves after the session. You can continue your daily activities normally after the session.
This treatment is considered a complement to other cosmetic treatments and usually gives satisfactory results if done in an integrated manner according to the plan set by the doctor.
